About Stephanie
Unafraid to place fantastical elements into a mundane world or medieval realm, Stephanie Rice is a young adult fantasy writer. She incorporates elements of realism and suspense into her works in order to bring a heightened sense of wonder to her audience. Sometimes she'll even throw her hat into the sci-fi circle. Sharing her tales through screenplays and comics is her main focus, but she occasionally dips her toes into the waters of novel writing.
As a semiprofessional rider and with the determination to become a veterinarian, Stephanie spent a lot of time on the road. She traveled near and far for the competitions, enabling her to hide away in fantasy realms while in cars and planes. She discovered the wonders of worlds beyond the show ring. When she road into competition, she imagined herself riding into mystical lands on the back of a Pegasus.
When it comes to Stephanie’s characters, her protagonists are quick-witted and stubborn but pure of heart, much like the writer herself. They are often partnered by the most lovable fictional creatures or guided by the most inexplicable mentors. Stephanie's creations can invoke a feeling of love or hate as they shine, suffer, and conquer.
Stephanie has graduated Full Sail University with a B.F.A. in Creative Writing for Entertainment. She is currently working on her own comic book series: The Gumiho Legend. The series revolves around an American writer renting out a Hanok in Seoul, South Korea, which is haunted by an enraged Gumiho who kills any man that stays in the home of her former lover.
